The festive season is one of our favourites; not only the festive food and drink (which always goes down a treat) but also a wonderful opportunity to gather with family and friends, old and new, for a jolly good time together. And where better to do just that than your friendly local pub in beautiful West Bergholt…

Christmas Draw Night – Friday 22nd December
Our always popular Christmas Draw night is back for 2023. Always a great knees-up, the evening will be kicking off from 6:30pm, for drinks, the draw itself, and a live DJ until midnight. Food will be served, as normal, from 12pm until last orders at 8:30pm – great fuel for a night of fun with friends and family.
Christmas Eve – Sunday 24th December
It’s the lead up to the day itself and the ideal opportunity to come and grab some food and drinks with some mates. We’ll be open from 9am, serving breakfast until 11:30am to get the day kicked off the right way. From then, food will be served from our normal menu (excluding roasts) until 5pm and then the bar is open for drinks only until 9pm. It’s always busy on Christmas Eve, so booking is essential if you’re looking to dine with us.
Christmas Day – Monday 25th December
For many, it is a longstanding tradition to head along to your local for a drink while the turkey is in the oven doing its thing on Christmas Day. The Queen’s Head will be open, for drinks only, from 11am – 3pm on the big day for you to brave the cold and pop along to raise a merry toast with us.
Boxing Day – Tuesday 26th December
If you don’t fancy tackling the leftovers today – or if you’re feeling a little too tender to face another day of meal prep – then come along to The Queen’s Head and let us take care of the cooking for you. We’re open from 10am – 11pm, serving our usual seasonal menu until 5pm. Another busy one for us, so make sure you book your table in advance.
New Year’s Eve – Sunday 31st December
Another day for fuelling up for the main event at midnight. Earlier birds can come and join us from 9am – 11:30am for a hearty breakfast, or if you’re having a lie-in to rest up for a big night, we’ll be serving our normal food menu until 5pm (excluding roasts). The pub will then remain open for drinks only until 8pm.
New Year’s Day – Monday 1st January
Welcome in the new year – and catch up with that all-important ‘about last night’ debrief with mates – at The Queen’s Head. We’ll be opening from midday, serving our Autumn/Winter food menu, and offering our popular NYD roasts, until 6pm. An ever-popular day at our chilled local pub, so booking is essential if you’re joining us to dine. The pub will then be open until 11pm for drinks only.
Christmas Parties
Remember that our Willow Room is available for parties of all kinds – whether that’s getting the family together for a meal, celebrating someone’s birthday over the festive period, or catching up with the friend group over food and drinks. Room hire is FREE and we are here to support with catering and more, including with a special festive menu available on request.
